Why buy fruit baskets for kids?

Is it because the kids in question LOVE fruit? Or is it because they are allergic to or not allowed by parents to have sugary and fatty treats that you would normally associate as fun food for kids?

You might have another reason, but you do need to consider – Are the kids you are buying for going to appreciate your fruit baskets for kids?

The main point about gift giving, especially with gifts for kids, is that the recipient appreciates and enjoys not only the gesture but the stuff they get.

Of course if fruit is a big thing for the kids you are buying for, go for it. If you can jazz it up and make it a bit interesting for kids with some toys or decorations or simple recipe ideas like fruit smoothies, so much the better.
